The CHILLED group program has been designed for TEENS keen to begin working on their anxiety and stress. It is a structured 10 session program run over 10 weeks that teaches you how to better manage anxiety.
The Chilled program has been developed by Macquarie university and is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). It has a focus on teaching practical skills to manage anxiety and the common challenges which arise during adolescence.
Current results indicate that most young people who complete the program show significant improvement. Following the program, there are increases in school attendance, academic achievement, confidence, number of friends and involvement in extracurricular activities and decreases in worry, shyness, fear and family distress.
The Chilled program also has a parent component that equips parents with skills on how to support their child through anxiety.
